What’s the difference between counseling and coaching?

While both counseling and coaching can be powerful catalysts for healing and growth, they serve slightly different roles—and I offer both with intention and clarity.

Counseling (which I offer to residents of Tennessee) often focuses on processing trauma, managing mental health symptoms, and healing emotional wounds. It is more clinical in nature, typically involves diagnosis, and is shaped by insurance and state regulations.

Coaching, on the other hand, is available to clients anywhere and offers a more expansive, spiritually integrative approach. It’s not about diagnosis—it’s about possibility. Coaching invites you to explore who you are becoming, what you're creating, and how to live in deeper alignment with your values, intuition, and wild inner truth.

What is Holistic & Transformational Coaching?

Coaching with me is rooted in presence, collaboration, and sacred remembering. It’s a space where your story, your body, your inner guidance, and your nervous system all have a voice.

 

This is not a quick-fix or one-size-fits-all experience. It’s a soft unfolding—an intentional reweaving of your life around who you truly are and what you deeply desire.

 

Our work may include:

 

* Clarifying your values and intentions

* Exploring limiting beliefs, patterns, and inner parts

* Tuning into the body’s wisdom and energy

* Nervous system support + regulation tools

* Shadow work and inner child connection

* Guided meditation, breathwork, or somatic awareness

* Creative expression, intuitive imagery, or energy healing

* Gentle structure to support sustainable change

 

You don’t need to show up “fixed” or “figured out”—just willing to explore what’s ready to shift.

Session Structure

This is where we get grounded and intentional

 We’ll begin with a *90-minute intake session*

In this first session, we’ll:

 

* Explore where you are now—what’s working and what isn’t

* Identify core values, desires, and the changes you’re seeking

* Begin to understand patterns, blocks, and deeper needs

* Collaborate on a personalized path forward that feels aligned and doable

 

This first session is a mix of exploration, intuitive inquiry, and co-creation. You’ll leave with greater clarity, a sense of direction, and practices to begin weaving change.

 

How to Prepare

 

To get the most out of your intake session, I recommend:

  • Spending a little quiet time journaling beforehand

  • Reflecting on your core values and what truly matters to you

  • Noticing where you're feeling stuck, numb, overwhelmed, or ready for change

  • Writing down any intentions, questions, or areas of focus you'd like to explore

 

I can also provide **optional tools and resources**—like values clarification exercises or journaling prompts—before your session if that feels supportive.


Ongoing Support

Most *follow-up sessions* are *60 minutes*, where we’ll check in, build on insights, and continue to explore and integrate. For times when a quicker touchpoint is needed, *30-minute sessions* are available for returning clients.

 Session frequency and format are flexible—this is your journey, and we’ll find a rhythm that honors your needs and life.
