Holistic Counseling with Stephanie
Since opening my private practice in 2009, I’ve walked beside hundreds of individuals on their path toward healing, self-understanding, and transformation. Over the years, one truth has become unmistakably clear: healing cannot be compartmentalized. It isn’t something that happens just in the mind or through talk alone. True healing is a return to the whole self—body, heart, mind, and spirit.
My early training as a therapist introduced me to traditional approaches like CBT, which I quickly realized could only take a person so far. These methods often left out the deeper, more intuitive knowing I carried within me—insights born from both lived experience and an innate sense that healing is not linear, nor purely cognitive. There was so much missing: the body’s wisdom, the power of presence, the importance of slowing down, the sacredness of emotion, and the necessity of spirit.
So, I began to weave.
Over time, I intentionally integrated holistic practices—movement, yoga, breathwork, mindfulness and meditation, sound healing, nervous system education, nature-based connection, intuitive imagery, and somatic awareness. My sessions became softer, deeper, and more embodied. They became a space where the mind is honored, but not prioritized over the heart or the body. A place where clients are invited to come home to themselves.
Over the years, I began to integrate what I had always felt to be true. My sessions evolved to include:
* Mindfulness and meditation
* Somatic awareness and nervous system education
* Breathwork, yoga, and sound
* Nature connection and imaginative inner work
* Intuitive practices and energy healing
These modalities became threads in a larger tapestry—each one supporting the client in reconnecting to themselves with gentleness, curiosity, and trust.
“Healing is not about fixing what’s broken. It’s about remembering what has always been whole.”
At the core of my approach is the belief that therapy is not about “fixing” you. It's about remembering. Reconnecting. Reclaiming. It's about meeting your inner world with curiosity and compassion, learning to understand the nervous system’s patterns, exploring attachment wounds, befriending inner parts (even the ones we try to exile), and holding space for the shadow—not to judge it, but to integrate it.
I work collaboratively—always. Our work is not something I do to you, but something we do together. And though I am clinically trained, I don't pathologize you. I don’t believe healing happens when we categorize someone as a diagnosis. I believe healing happens when we understand how our wounds were once adaptations, and when we explore how to bring our systems back into balance with care, intention, and empowered choice.
While I continue to offer licensed counseling (currently available for Tennessee residents), my sessions also blend intuitive and mystical practices when desired or appropriate. This can include guided imagery, energy work (Reiki), card pulls, embodiment practices, creative expression, and inner child connection. For those outside of Tennessee or seeking a more expansive experience, I also offer **transformational coaching** and other **holistic services** that are not bound by the limitations of insurance or diagnosis.
Whether we’re working through grief, trauma, anxiety, self-worth, life transitions, or the quiet ache of disconnection, my aim is always the same: to help you slow down, turn inward, and trust your own becoming.
